Bonus
3/2/1 points from the official BPS rankings - top BPS score earns 3, second earns 2, third earns 1. Ties follow FPL's rules, and scores can move until lockdown.
DefCon
Defenders earn +2 at 10 CBIT (clearances, blocks, interceptions, tackles). Midfielders and forwards need 12 CBIRT (CBIT plus ball recoveries). Goalkeepers are ineligible, and it is capped at +2 per match.
Lockdown
Everything is provisional until 09:00 UK on the day after the final match of the gameweek, when Opta's post-match review is complete and final stats and points are locked in.
Bonus & DefCon FAQ
DefCon (defensive contribution) awards +2 FPL points when a player reaches the match threshold: defenders need 10 CBIT (clearances, blocks, interceptions, tackles), while midfielders and forwards need 12 CBIRT (the same actions plus ball recoveries). Goalkeepers are not eligible, and the award is capped at +2 per match.
Bonus points use the official FPL BPS (bonus points system) rankings: the top BPS scorer earns 3 bonus points, second earns 2 and third earns 1, with FPL's tie-breaking rules applied. This page runs the same calculation on live BPS.
Yes. Live bonus and DefCon points are provisional until lockdown - 09:00 UK on the day after the final match of the gameweek - when Opta's post-match review is complete and the FPL data is finalised. Any late stat corrections are applied at that point.
CBIT is the total of a player's clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles in a match. CBIRT is the same total plus ball recoveries. Defenders earn DefCon points on CBIT (10 or more), while midfielders and forwards earn them on CBIRT (12 or more).
No. Goalkeepers are not eligible for DefCon points. They score through saves, clean sheets and penalty saves instead, and can still earn bonus points through BPS.
BPS (Bonus Points System) scores every player in a match using Opta data. It rewards actions such as goals, assists, clean sheets, saves, key passes and defensive work, and deducts for things like errors, missed chances and cards. The three highest BPS scores in each match earn 3, 2 and 1 bonus points.
